Hello everyone!
I hope you’re all enjoying your summer so far! Last week was about as summer as it gets. Kudos to those of you who crushed some workouts despite the heat! 🤜 I think we’re all looking forward to some cooler temperatures this coming week.
Below are the suggested workouts for next week. I had a few questions about the groups last week. Again, your letter group is a volume group. It’s how much running you’d do. Most of the volume is in terms of minutes of running instead of miles because we all run different paces, but minutes are the same for everyone.
The number group is the speed group. Our training zones are based on Coach Greg McMillians training zones of Endurance, Stamina, Speed, and Sprint. The 2 mile time trial we did during Cross Camp (or a race times if you’ve raced recently) determine the speed group which we use as the goal paces when targeting the different zones. You can also find workouts are also up here. Also at the bottom of that page is the summary of everyone’s progress on the summer mileage goals. For those of you in our Strava group, I’m able to get the miles from there. But if you’re not syncing your watch, or not a member of the group, then please send me you training log via email.
Finally, as a reminder we’ll be meeting at Hughes Park on Monday and Wednesday night this week at 7PM near the pavilion. I also plan to be there on Saturday morning at 8AM for Long Run Saturday. These group runs are completely optional, but a great way to connect with the team as well not have to do the harder workouts all alone (Iron sharpens iron)
